VIEWING SEARCH RESULTS

Following is a typical screen shot of how Search results appear.

 

 
 
Overruled Flag indicates that the subject case law has been over ruled.
 

Search in Results

  • This interface helps you to further narrow down your search. In above eg. of child custody.
  • Click on Search in results
  • Type your query eg alimony.
  • Click on Refine
  • The results get refined to 4509 results.

 

 
  • User can continue to narrow down the search any number of times.
  • Terms & Connectors can be used in framing refine query
  • If synonym was selected in main query, the subsequent refine query will give results with synonyms
 

Filter Results By:

 
The search results are further categorized by manupatra under various heads making navigation easy for the user.
In the screen shot above, the 4509 results have been categorised under heads such as Court, Document Type, Subject, Judge, Ministry, Period etc. In one glance a user can know how the results are slotted across different heads and straight away access the one that is relevant to his/ her research.
 
 
Save Searches - This provides you the option of saving your searches for future reference.
Click on Save Search
Give the search result a name “Save search as” by which you may recognize the search at a future date.
The searches are saved on Manupatra servers. For e.g. here we have the saved the search as “test” name.
 
 

Manage existing Searches –

To access your saved searches, go to My Home page.
Click on Manage Search
Select the search you want to run from the list
You can delete or rename the selected search.
